Might the Sarenne valley have two images ?

In winter it is a priviledged ski area for lovers of snow expanses and altitude, snowboarding, crosscountry and off piste skiing and ice-climbing included... The sesame of this area is no other than Alpe d'Huez.

In summer, without really being aware of it, everyone has their eyes fixed on the Sarenne valley : the fearsome ascent to Alpe d'Huez which the leading pack of the Tour de France have to face, is the main entrance to this spectacular area.

Aside from its position, Sarenne is a true island in the sun, where the spectacular soaring peaks of Les Grandes Rousses are often set alight by a golden sunset. Even if Alpe d'Huez reputation is already established, the summer atmosphere which surrounds the villages and hamelets has et to be discovered.

As well as the GR 54 walk, there are many other magical walks, such as the vertiginous drops and the hidden lakes of Plan des Cavales or the access to the Sarenne mountain pass from Huez, they are all a real pleasure and well away from any public events.
